Parent Involvement
Parent Involvement is:
- To create and sustain a partnership and collaboration with all parents
- To lend support to parents as their child's educator, nurturer and advocate
- To provide each parent with opportunities to be involved in Head Start
- To ensure parents are involved in policy and program decisions for EES
- Work as a team with staff and Policy Council to strengthen EES
Parent Committees
- EES has 5 Parent Committees
- Every parent is automatically a member of a parent committee
- Each committee meets monthly
- Parents plan and conduct meetings
- Curriculum ideas are shared with teachers at meetings
- Guest speakers may be invited to talk about topics of interest
- Menus for children are discussed
How to be more involved as an EES Parent
- Join a Parent Committee
- Volunteer in your child's classroom or at the EES center
- Share your cultural heritage with your child's class and/or with parents
- Help plan curriculum and socializations
- Share your ideas about new ways of doing things
- Serve on Policy Council
