Family Services

Early Education Services provides parents and children a variety of social services to match their particular needs. Family Support Specialists are either assigned to centers to provide support and resource/referral for parents with children attending the centers, or given a caseload of families to work with homebased where parenting support and referral is also provided along with child development activites. Some of the areas focused upon by FSS are: adult education, Reach Up and employment services, programs for dads, goal-setting with families, identifying needs and how to meet them, transportation, homelessness, access of food, access to medical and dental care, and referrals to FIT/EEE, ICG, VNA and other outside agency help.

Hello

Home Based Services

Home based services provide visits in the home. Family Support Specialists provide visits for pregnant mothers focusing on pre-natal/post-partum care. After the child is born, the parent and the home visitor work together to develop activities that promote child development. Home visitors also provide information on parenting issues and resources throughout the community. Visits happen weekly as well as socializations each month that help foster a strong, nurturing relationship with families.

Services include:

Parenting support - support for the parents in their role as their child's first teacher, information about community resources and how to access them, and helping families meet goals for their children and themselves.
