We offer a multitude of opportunities to children and families served and look to the following early childhood education resources for primary guidance:
Touchpoints
Founded by renowned pediatrician Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, Touchpoints offers a framework from which to work with families. Strength-based principles are intentionally practiced as both child development and the evolution of relationships are explored. Touchpoints Practioners are challenged to examine what they themselves bring to interactions and to make positive shifts in direct response to the needs/interests/desires of families. Touchpoints Practice requires one to be fully present with families and to devote oneself to reflective practice. On-going opportunities for support in Touchpoints are available through reflective supervision sessions with Touchpoints trained supervisors and by attending monthly in-service trainings on the topic. The EES Executive Director and the Child Development Manager have been trained as trainers through the Brazelton Touchpoints center and will continue to facilitate the training for staff in an on-going basis.
